Happy Easter! I started off our Easter feast with a brie cheese board and paired it with a chilled French Riesling, Pierre Sparr Grande Reserve. Our main course was a bone in standing prime rib roast, mashed potatoes, carrots and gravy paired with a decanted bottle of Halter Ranch Vineyard block 22 Syrah. I rated the Riesling a 4.0. It was crisp and bright with flavors of lemon, honey, green apple, mineral, straw and sea salt. I rated the Syrah a 4.2. It was delicious, full bodied, and smooth with notes of blackberry, blueberry, cassis, plum, cherry, licorice, oak, vanilla and chocolate. It was a beautiful deep ruby red color with a terrific aroma.
I hope you had an amazing Easter with family and friends. HE IS RISEN! God Bless!
