Tonight, my husband and I went to a wine tasting at Wine on Water in downtown Tampa. We began our evening tasting 4 wines from the Rhone region of France; 2 from Northern Rhone and 2 from Southern Rhone.
My ratings of the wines ranged from a 3.5 to a 4.4 out of 5. I definitely had favorites and we left with 6 bottles.
My rating however was a 5 out of 5 for the knowledge and experience after the tasting from the staff of Wine on Water. Jessica’s personality, energy and excitement for wine was the icing on the cake. She spent time getting to know our individual wine style and matching it with wines from several regions including Morocco, France, Italy, Switzerland, Greece, Hungary and South Africa.
If your looking for something to do in Tampa on a Thursday evening, stop by Wine on Water, meet Jessica and experience a wine tasting or grab a glass or exquisite bottle of wine. Next door from the same owners, is a cute little restaurant called Small Giant, which features pizza, soup, salads, sandwiches and a variety of appetizers. I’m looking forward to coming back to try their food. Their other locations include Cru Cellars in the Westshore section of Tampa, now called Vela, which serves Mediterranean cuisine and Boozy, in Hyde Park, which features champagne and cocktails as well as popcorn, caviar, oysters and steak. I’m excited to try these other locations being a foodie and wine-o!! I also have a love for the energy and beauty for each of the neighborhoods Tampa has to offer.
