Tonight, we had some company over and sat by the fire pit with a glass of my absolute favorite, Cabernet Sauvignon.
Tonight’s selection was primarily Cabernet Sauvignon blended with Merlot. This wine was the epitome of comfort and coziness. It was like a warm blanket or familiar hug in a glass.
It had notes of dark cherry and blackberry balanced with oak, vanilla, leather and tobacco. It was subtly smokey and mildly sweet.
I wasn’t a fan upon first sip but after this wine opened up, I rated it a 4.2 out of 5 on Vivino.
If you are looking for a great wine to snuggle by the fire with or pair with a grilled steak or BBQ chicken, I would highly recommend the 2019 Coursey Graves Bennett Mountain Estate blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
